Fundraising is done from the inside out.  Start with the people closest to you.  The reason is that if the people closest to you won’t support you, why would you expect people who don’t know you well to do so.

Start by building a table called Who do you know?  with a cell for name, phone, address, email, and how much you think they might consider giving.

Give those tables to your senior staff, board members and, depending on your mission, people or families served, and alumni or former clients.  Once you get them back, make a call or send an email asking for a meeting to talk about your organization.  The CEO/Ex.Dir. should go with the person who made the list.  That person should talk about why he or she is involved, and the CEO should make the ask.
